I have a Polyvision Walk and Talk, and I do pretty much what the PP do with their Interactive White Boards. And I must add, that although I use it in nearly every lesson, there are times when the kids just need the reading practice or the paper and pencil practice (no EOG on a Smartboard!), so it goes off and we work in a different way. I know I'm rambling, but I think I find some new use for my Smartboard every day and I've only had it since mid-December. I'm also begging our IT guy to find a way not to filter a website used with because I would love to let my kids here read alouds by 't happened yet, though. We don't have our own document cameras or Senteos yet, but we do have a set to share, so I'm still working with that technology. Oh, and National Geographic and Scholastic both have wonderful interactive Underground Railroad "trips" that my students were absolutely enthralled with. I also love being able to pull up images of people we talk about in class. We also subscribe to Study Island, so I can pull questions up from that site to discuss in class. My school subscribes to Discovery Education for streaming video. My partner, who teaches math, has found incredible numbers of interactive websites for money, time, and now fractions. My grade level uses a lot of the activities on Pete's Powerpoint Station ( to cover virtually any NC objective. Like Ima teacher, I use the Notebook to create pages ahead of time and switch back and forth as the activity calls for it. I use my board to play review games of spelling and grammar rules (some are from the Smartboard learning toolkit, some are internet based), to review reading selections (I try to use PDF docs so the kids can come up and highlight the places where they find their answers), and to introduce and review objectives. My grade is departmentalized and I teach Language Arts this year. I only have a few feet of whiteboard left on either side, so my Smartboard is my everything board! When we got ours this year, they had to mount them on the existing whiteboard.
